Advert 3: SNICKERS

This advert is about 'Mr T Snickers'. the purpose was to raise awareness of the product and also trying to promote sales. The message is to be stronger and braver and act like a 'man'. They have used Mr T as a celebrity endorsement to show the strength  and power from him. The message they want to get across that the 'SNICKERS' make you strong.

The voiceover starts off with phone conversations between Mr T and a man. Mr T sounds professional at first and then becomes more aggressive and forceful. He end up shouting at the man. At the end the phone hangs up and a different man ends the advert in a higher pitched voice telling you where to go (website).
The slogan / tag lines for this advert is 'GET SOME NUTS'. I think they use this because they have targeted males to be stronger, more powerful and become a 'man'.
The product line is introduced at 23 seconds which is quite late and makes you think what's the advert about? It is also used at very end and finishes the advert off.
There is no music but special effects include background noises, the phone ringing and hanging up which makes it sound more realistic.
I think the unique selling point is that if you buy some 'SNICKERS', you will be stronger.

According to Radio Central Copy Clearance, advertisements must avoid anything likely to encourage poor nutritional habits or an unhealthy lifestyle, especially in children. Advertisements must no encourage damaging oral healthcare practices, especially in children. Advertisements must encourage excessive consumption of any food. This advert has follow the guidelines however it is on borderline because 'SNICKERS' is an unhealthy product that is available to children.

Advert 2: wonga.com

The purpose of this advert is trying to promote product or service which is wonga.com who provide short term loans. It is light-hearted and relaxed which encourages the listeners. The message in the advert was trying to say it is simplest loan that exists and it is all positive and good language that is used which makes the product/service sounds better.

The style they used in this advert are repetitive and persuasive.
The main voiceover is female and high pitched singing quite quickly in the background every so often there's a group of men who repeat or emphasise what she has said and they are in a deeper voice to make it clearer and understandable so the listeners can hear the different tones of voices. At the end, there is a female speaking, not singing. The voice is still clear and positive but becomes serious covering the legal issues. Whilst she speaking, there is some quieter singing in the background similar to the singer in the advert.
The slogan / tag line is 'wonga' but it is repeated to make it catchy and stick in someone's head.
The product name is introduced immediately and continues throughout the advert.
The music is throughout the advert and it is jolly and upbeat. The lady singing to the song called 'Mr Sandman' by The Chordettes however the lyrics is changed and it has been sped up to be more attractive and upbeat. The sound effects are having the background singers.
I think the unique selling point is short term loan that you can take it out quickly.

According to the Consumer Credit (Advertisements) Regulations 2010, every advert about credit should include plain and intelligible language, be easily legible and specify the name of the advertiser. This advert does most of this however because they are singing the speech can be unclear at times.

Advert 1: Nando's

The first advert that I analysed was the 'It's ok' advert from Nando's. When I analysed this I realised it's purpose was to inform and raise brand awareness about Nando's. The message in the advert was trying to make people aware of Nando's and the foods they sell and explain that everyone's welcome. It doesn't really have a persuasive content and also it doesn't promote special offers.

The voiceover is used by having a male with Portuguese accent that is jokey and creates a stereotype. The voice tries to use humour in the script by saying some statements that suggests something alternative for example, "if you are a traffic of the warden...it's okay." This allows the listeners to relate and understand the relaxed feeling of the advert. It will cheer the listeners up and attract them to go to Nando's.
The slogan / tag line they use is 'It's ok.'. I think the reason why they use that is because it reassures the listeners that everything will be ok, no matter what their situation.
The product name is introduced roughly after 3 seconds which is quite early on in the advert. This shows they are trying to raise awareness of the company.
The music is used for 15 to 16 seconds of the advert, it is mariachi music which is quite cheery happy and stereotypical of Portugal. It promotes positive feelings to the listeners. There are no other sound effects in this advert.
This advert does not have specific unique selling point because it is just advertising Nando's but doesn't have anything major that makes it stand out.

This advert has a regulatory issue to consider, this is the accents they used because it is a Portuguese accent and it is someone who is putting on the accent, this could be seen as borderline offensive to Portuguese people. On this occasion that the accent has been allowed however the producers of this advert would have had to have followed the guidelines from the Radio Advertising Clearing Centre (RACC) which states, "When different nationalities or regional accents are used in advertisement scenarios, care is needed so as not to cause offence by negative stereotyping or by ridiculing the relevant county, region or racial group."
